Test Engineer

Overall Purpose of Role:

We have identified an exciting new opportunity for a Test Engineer to join the team at Bladon Jets, working with the Development and Test team to perform a wide variety of development and performance testing on microturbine generator systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing a wide variety of development and performance testing on an exciting new product.
  • Set up and configure test equipment such as:
  1. Load banks
  2. Vibration measurement systems
  3. In-house power equipment
  4. Instrumentation and data acquisition such as pressures, temperatures, flows, speed and power analysis

Experienced Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

Purpose of Role:

Working as part of the Operations team, we require an experienced SQA Engineer to take a key role in selecting and developing our supply chain and internal processes at this pivotal time for the business.

The right candidate will continue to provide hands on support across the business to ensure best practise at all times and robust systems both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
  • Carry out supplier validation audits and advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
  • Manage and coordinate supplier performance, problem solving, cost recovery and warranty activities
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities across the supply chain.
  • Support inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans and PPAP approval.
  • Report on KPIs to drive Continuous Improvement activities
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products to meet business and customer requirements
  • Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques throughout the business including Lean, 6-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, SPC and PFMEA.
  • Lead quality audits and coordinate audit plans.
  • Hands on support of internal builds.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of utilised products and materials and report out on potential impact.
  • Deliver training on quality awareness to colleagues and at suppliers as required.
