Key Responsibilities;

  • Performing a wide variety of development, testing and analysis tasks
  • Set up and configure test equipment such as:
    • Load banks
    • Vibration measurement systems
    • Displacement measurement
    • Mechanical Load measurement
    • Instrumentation
  • Work as part of a close team of highly skilled engineers and designers, with a very quick loop from results to modifications
  • Analysis of mechanical data such as vibration, noise, structures etc and developing improvements
  • Adherence to, and creation of, risk assessments, safe systems of work and procedures
  • Support certification of product
  • Assisting with design of test equipment to perform the development tests
  • Assisting Lead Development Engineer with design of rigs where necessary
  • Working with engineering and test department to perform full generator system testing related to vibration, noise etc

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Strong background in a product mechanical development engineering
  • Previous experience with vibration and noise testing and analysis is essential
  • Experience with noise measurement, analysis and improvement is ideal
  • Careful attention to detail in organising test data, build records etc to ensure the integrity of the results for years to come
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering with 5 years industrial experience
  • Excellent computer skills with Ms office etc
  • Design experience in Solidworks is ideal, desire to learn essential

Experienced Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

Purpose of Role:

Working as part of the Operations team, we require an experienced SQA Engineer to take a key role in selecting and developing our supply chain and internal processes at this pivotal time for the business.

The right candidate will continue to provide hands on support across the business to ensure best practise at all times and robust systems both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
  • Carry out supplier validation audits and advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
  • Manage and coordinate supplier performance, problem solving, cost recovery and warranty activities
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues.
  • Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities across the supply chain.
  • Support inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans and PPAP approval.
  • Report on KPIs to drive Continuous Improvement activities
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products to meet business and customer requirements
  • Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques throughout the business including Lean, 6-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, SPC and PFMEA.
  • Lead quality audits and coordinate audit plans.
  • Hands on support of internal builds.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of utilised products and materials and report out on potential impact.
  • Deliver training on quality awareness to colleagues and at suppliers as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Experience within SQA is essential.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment is essential- ideally Automotive / Aerospace.
  • Lean manufacturing and / or 6-Sigma experience.
  • Relevant Engineering qualifications preferred.

Also, to validate supplied parts conform to specification, complete ISIR’s and validate supplier's ISIR, to maintain and control equipment calibration on site, to liaise with Engineering and Machining department to determine requirements and feedback results clearly and robustly and to assist in resolving non-conformities.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Determine CMM Program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
  • To Program measurement equipment to enable in-house measurement of manufactured parts.
  • To measure manufactured components using CMM facility and first principle gauging equipment.
  • Provide direction to machining department based on results of measurements.
  • To maintain site equipment calibration register and to react accordingly to concerns identified.
  • To conduct ISIR activities for in house produced parts, including maintaining accurate records.
  • To review supplier ISIR reports, including liaising with internal departments and suppliers regarding the results and proposed resolution of non-compliances.
  • To review drawings/specifications with Engineering to verify requirements can be measured & validated.
  • To support root cause investigations to drive improvements / resolve concerns.
  • To liaise with all department, including Engineering & Supply chain, to ensure metrology requirements are achieved in line with business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Minimum of 10 years in Quality inspection.
  • Minimum of 5 years programming / operating CMM measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, at a good level.
  • Good programming skills within Virtual Dmis software or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent understanding of ISIR generation and interpretation.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solving/continuous improvement skills.
  • Comfortable working without supervision.

Key Experience;
